Feyisayo (Fey) Onabanjo Olutobi
(Practice Owner)
Fey is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University and a Diploma in Community Service and Addiction from CIMT College. I bring a unique blend of academic training, lived experience, and cultural sensitivity to my therapeutic work, with a deep commitment to walking alongside individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult and transformative moments.
As an African Canadian woman who migrated to Canada in 2018 with my two minor children, I know what it means to face life-altering transitions in isolation, emotional hardship, and the challenges of starting over in a new culture. Through faith, resilience, and sought support, I lived, survived and I am thriving through those experiences.
I believe that every human, irrespective of their living unique experiences has an innate capacity to be resilient as they journey through life. As a dedicated mental health professional, I am committed to helping others find their strength and voice, especially when life feels overwhelming or stuck.
My Approach to Therapy
I draw from an eclectic therapeutic orientation, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each client. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
- Strength-Based and Narrative Therapy.
- Family Systems Therapy.
- Grief and Trauma-Informed Approaches.
My Commitment to You
Using my academic expertise and learned experience, I will meet you exactly where you are emotionally, mentally, and culturally. I offer a non-judgmental, safe, and collaborative space where your story matters, your emotions are validated, and your growth is possible.
I deeply value cultural humility and believe in co-creating a healing relationship where you are both supported and empowered. I am here to walk with you from a place of defeat to a place of triumph, helping you explore, process, and find meaning in your life experiences. Your healing is your own, and it is my privilege to be part of that journey.
Together, these approaches allow me to address the root causes of emotional pain, limiting patterns/beliefs, and unresolved trauma—while also focusing on hope, resilience, and the strengths you already carry within you.
I am passionate about working collaboratively and compassionately with individuals from all walks of life, but I have a particular affinity for:
- Black/Marginalized (and Other Racial or Ethnic Background) individuals navigating cultural identity and generational wounds.
- Immigrants and refugees experiencing culture shock, dislocation, or adjustment fatigue.
- Mature students balancing personal growth with academic and life pressures.
- Single parents facing complex life choices and emotional burdens.
- Adolescents and adults struggling with grief, trauma, anxiety, or self-worth.
- Isolated individuals/married women in emotionally painful or difficult life situations.
